RSA Conference 2009

We are pleased to be a Silver Media sponsor of the RSA conference, which focuses on the latest in information security. Here at Messaging News we cut our teeth on messaging security. We have followed for years the experiences of our readers, as well as the malware combat trends and thought-leadership of messaging security vendors. This arena plays like a novel with twists and unexpected turns of mystery (who are those guys behind the malware?), mayhem, and intrigue. Between cyber-crimes, hacking, botnet hijacking, fraud, insider threats, and studying the criminal eco-system, how could anyone be bored?

In this economic environment where we must make hard businesses choices, security continues to be a top-rated concern. The question is: What is the best compromise between security and budget constraints? Every year I look forward to spending a few days at RSA meeting with industry experts and developing story ideas for future issues. The economy is challenging all of us with limited budgets, and the reality is it’s anything but business as usual. While at the conference, I hope to solicit best practices to meet the challenges of the day, while being economical in terms of resources. I will also keep an eye out for innovation and new approaches to report on.
