New Email Solution for Enterprise Market
Sendio, Inc., announced last week its appliance solution E-mail Security Platform (ESP). Sendio’s ESP combines what it calls Silverlisting, a proprietary technology which includes a set of low-level SMTP tests to determine the legitimacy of the sending email server, and Sender Address Verification, which verifies the authenticity of first-time, unsolicited senders. Unlike many solutions on the market, ESP does not rely on filters. “It’s obvious that spam filters don’t work: large quantities of spam messages frequently make it into enterprise inboxes, despite the repeated fine-tuning of spam filters, and even more serious, legitimate messages are being tagged as spam and lost or delayed by filters,” says Kevin Bowyer, chief executive officer of Sendio, Inc. “Unlike spam filters, Sendio’s ESP ensures that spam is blocked and real messages are never routed to the junk folder. It incorporates a similar user acceptance model utilized worldwide by users of Facebook, MySpace, leading IM vendors and even Caller ID.”
The company notes ESP requires minimal administrative maintenance, achieving significant time and resource savings for enterprises. “We are an install and forget system,” says CTO and founder Tal Golan. “There is no continued tweaking and tuning that people have with filters. We are an active technology. Filters by their definition are re-active, whether for spam in the email case or filtering of your water. That tuning and tweaking is needed to keep up with current problems.”
ESP’s Sender Address Verification introduces a human element into the process, which Bowyer believes makes all the difference and “Will re-establish email again as a trusted communication tool.”
