Managed File Transfer Solution for Cloud Computing Platform
Accellion, Inc., recently announced its managed file transfer solution for the cloud computing platform. The company says Accellion-in-the-Cloud supports rapid installation and deployment on a choice of the VMware vCloud or Amazon Web Services Cloud Computing Platforms and provides easy integration and extension of on-premise Accellion deployments.
According to Accellion, by extending its managed file transfer solution to the cloud, Accellion is helping companies address the ever-increasing need to securely and efficiently transmit large digital files while offering the associated benefits of cloud computing including instant scalability and the ability to leverage a multi-billion dollar IT infrastructure in the cloud.
“Accellion-in-the-Cloud is the ideal choice for corporations seeking to deploy an enterprise-grade solution for managed file transfer on a solid IT infrastructure with limitless scalability,” says Yorgen Edholm, president and CEO of Accellion. “It requires less capital investment by our customers because they simply pay a subscription and can add or subtract capacity whenever they choose.”
With this announcement Accellion’s appliance-based managed file transfer architecture now supports a choice of cloud, virtual and hardware-based appliances, all of which work together.
“The VMware vCloud initiative offers enterprises the ability to build internal clouds on the industry’s only virtual datacenter operating system, and federate them to a broad partner ecosystem that delivers reliable infrastructure as a service designed for new or existing applications,” says Wendy Perilli, director of product marketing for VMware. “Accellion’s vision to deliver its managed file transfer solution in formats that can be consumed regardless of location aligns with the needs of users, and the hundreds of vCloud service providers. We see this solution as the beginning of how users will expect to consume applications, and are happy to have Accellion offering this choice to our customers.”
