Intradyn Launches New, Sub-$10,000 Archiving Appliance
Intradyn of Eagan, MN is offering a new email archiving appliance, ComplianceVault06™, which provides rapid searching of email to improve responsiveness to litigation discovery requests and compliance with HIPAA, SOX, and SEC rules. The appliance works with Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes, and virtually any IMAP or POP3 email system, with prices starting under $10,000.
Ferris Research (disclosure: I consult for FRI) reports that the top eight vendors in the email archiving market are EMC (which acquired Legato products), Symantec (which acquired Veritas/KVS products), Zantaz, IBM Content Manager, HP Reference Information Storage System (based on acquired Persist products), C2C Systems (Archive One), Sherpa Software (MailAttender), and iLumin. But Intradyn’s offer is interesting because it points to archiving appliances becoming a mass market rather than a specialty product.
