Novell Cancels BrainShare Conference After 20 Years OStatic covers Novell’s official announcement of the cancellation of its BrainShare conference. Novell states that the cancellation was due to the restrictions of travel budgets and other expenses in the current business climate. Novell will offer online classes and virtual conferences in the conference’s place.

Thunderbird 3 beta 1 - a platform for innovation shapes up: David Ascher the CEO, Mozilla Messaging writes about the first beta of the new Thunderbird client. The new release includes better IMAP performance, a new autoconfiguration mechanism, a tabbed interface, a threaded message view, a new full text search engine and integration with the Mac OS X address book. This release is not yet feature complete.

Dreamforce: Salesforce.com adds Facebook, Amazon and Neil Young: VentureBeat discusses the announcement at the Dreamforce conference about the integration of Salesforce’s app hosting platform Force.com and Facebook. This means that Forece.com applications can now integrate with Facebook’s networks via Facebook Connect APIs.
