The Mayo Clinic has teamed up with Digital Cyclone (now part of Garmin) to deliver medical news and health information to subscriber’s mobile phones.
The Mayo Clinic will make it’s InTouch service available, which includes health news, first aid tips, a symptom checker, and health news videos. Location based health information such as nearest hospitals will be available to customers with GPS enabled cell phones. The software is available for download on all major wireless carriers, including Alltel, Cingular, Sprint, and Verizon. The service is priced $2.99 a month not including data access charges. Early this year, Garmin acquired mobile weather forecasting service Digital Cyclone for $45 million.
