The Radicati Group Inc has issued a slew of new reports this month, with many interesting predications:
- Email security appliance sales will take off. According to European Email Security Market Shows Strong Demand for Solutions to Protect IT Resources http://www.radicati.com/uploaded_files/news/Press%20Release%20-%20EUR%20ES2005.pdf, the marketing includes anti-spam engines, anti-virus engines, email security software, email security appliances and managed email security services. Radicati says “While strong growth is expected across all segments from $821M by year-end 2005 to $1,399M by 2009 – the study projects the strongest growth to occur in the Email Security Appliances and Managed Email Security Service segments of the market, driven largely by strong uptake in the SME sector.”
- For those not running security appliances, the hosted market may provide a good alternative. The report Strong Growth in the Hosted Email Market Fueled by Concerns over Security, Archiving and Compliance http://www.radicati.com/uploaded_files/news/Hosted_Email_PR2005.pdf, notes that “a greater percentage of medium and large businesses are investigating and deploying hosted email solutions” and estimates “there are currently 856 million hosted email accounts; this is expected to grow to 1,449 million by the end of 2009, or 69% over the four year period.”
- Wireless E-mail Market Nears Tipping Point http://www.radicati.com/uploaded_files/news/Wireless%20Email%20PR.pdf report predicts that “the corporate wireless e-mail mailbox installed base will increase from 6.5 million in 2005, to over 123 million in 2009. Revenue in the Corporate Wireless E-mail market is expected to exceed $2.1 billion by 2009.”
- The Corporate VoIP Market, 2005-2009http://www.radicati.com/uploaded_files/news/VoIP_PR.pdf predicts that IP Telephony will account for 74% of all corporate telephony in 2009.
Finally, the study, Identity Management Suites Gain Market Traction Thanks to More Stringent Corporate Compliance Requirements http://www.radicati.com/uploaded_files/news/05IDManagementPressRelease.pdf, says the market will grow 7-fold by 2008. “The Identity Management market, including all segments: fullsuites, provisioning, secure access/authentication, and federated identity solutions will reach over $1.2 billion in 2005 in worldwide revenues, and grow to over $8.5 billion by 2008.”
