Malware Revival

The "Happy New Year!" malware attack broke in the final days of 2006-a fitting end to a year that experienced a malware revival. "As a result of fairly accurate filters and modest volume growth, end-users may have perceived that the spam problem was 'solved' in 2005. However, that perception crumbled in 2006. It was extremely active for messaging security. Most notably, spam is back," observes Tom Gillis, SVP of worldwide marketing & sales for IronPort Systems, Inc.
