I received a PDF document by email (tax form to sign and email back), but could not print it as my printer was broken. Here's what I did:

  1. Saved the PDF document as an image (PNG format)
  2. Opened the image with Paint, on my Windows laptop
  3. Inserted a text box where the signature was expected to be found, and simply typed in my name on the keyboard. Then I changed the font to Brush Script MT, which looks like handwritten text.

Here's the result:

I thus eliminated two steps: printing, and scanning. No paper, no pen involved.

  • What about writing down your real, hand-written signature on a piece of paper, scan it (or if no scanner, take a picture of it with your cell phone), then upload the image on your laptop, and integrate it (cut and paste) in the tax form (PNG image).
